Introduction

Dance School Un Dos Tres offers high level pedagogically designed dancing instruction for kids, youngsters and adults. The main focus of the school is on flamenco, salsa and rumbita® dances of the Spanish-speaking areas of the world. The weekly schedule also includes street dance lessons for girls and boys as well as for young adults.

Dance School Un Dos Tres is approved to organize basic education of art for children, youngsters and adults since 2006. The school offers a possibility for a long term, from level to level advancing, and a demanding but also a rewarding hobby. Those students who take regularly part in the lessons will get to perform twice a year in Un Dos Tres’ own dancing shows. Dance School Un Dos Tres is a member of The Association of Dance Institutes in Finland.

Dancing is good for conditioning and it improves health in a fun way. Rhythmical knocking in flamenco strengthens bone structure, salsa and rumbita ® relax shoulders and make the waist lithe. Dance brings experiments in life – it has impressive power, it is many sided and even trendy!

Rumbita

Rumbita is a new dance form, full of expressive power, which has quickly become very popular. Rumbita has been developed by a Finnish flamenco dancer, Kirsi Kannas.

At the beginning, rumbita is easier than flamenco but expressions of feeling are never hidden! Esthetics, expressing emotions and even difficult rhythms are learned by practicing technique.

Rumbita is many-sided: it includes both nimble or fun and more profound choreographies. Opposites are played with by using both soft and a lot stronger movements as well.

Expression of the rumbita movements sometimes reminds of the discipline of flamenco, the speed of disco and just as well of the lithe vivacity of salsa. The sensuality and esthetics of Oriental dances are present in everything. Rumbita-dance emphasizes finding one's feminity.

Rumbita fits for children, youngsters and adults - for beginners as well as for more experienced dancers.

Rumbita's attractiveness lies in its strongly artistic base which is shown as simply as possible - a few beautiful movements can make even a beginner to move fluently to the rhythm of music. Dramatic and rythmical head movements make the dancers feel their own power of expression.

It is easy to come to a rumbita lesson. You can dance even barefoot.

Rumbita® licensed instructor course

The instructor course is meant for those dance teachers who after completing the course successfully and after paying for the license are able to teach the new type of dance on their own lessons. On the course, different kinds of basic trainings are practiced and six different choreographies are trained. Those choreographies are also filmed for the teachers. Literal instructions and a list of music for dancing lessons are also given on the course for all the teachers.

The course consists of two days of intensive training. On the second day, in August, the teachers will give a half an hour long audition of their teaching. The audition includes a short warm-up session and choreography teaching. The subject of teaching is decided in advance in June. The license has to be renewed every year by attending an advanced course. During the advanced course, new teaching techniques, expression by moves and six new choreographies are practiced. However, there is not a compulsory audition anymore.
